AI: Threat or Weapon? — Why the Embedded Industry Must Act Now
"Generative AI made our developers 10x faster." But is your team actually more productive?
Writing code is only 20% of the job. If the remaining 80%—reviews, security checks, vulnerability handling—can't keep up, AI doesn't boost productivity. It tanks it. And attackers are using the same AI to move faster too. No one in this industry can afford to sit back and watch.
Then there's the CRA. Starting September 2026, vulnerability reporting becomes mandatory: 24 hours for initial notification, fines up to €15 million for non-compliance. But the regulation doesn't spell out "how much is enough." The whole industry is navigating this transition without a clear answer.
Companies waiting for perfection will get left behind. The harmonized standards under CRA are still drafts. The companies that start now gain real operational experience before the rules are finalized—while everyone else scrambles to catch up after the fact, chasing an "answer" that's already locked in.
The same AI that threatens to derail your CRA compliance can also be the weapon that accelerates it—but only if you stay in control. The moment you hand it off entirely, it turns into a threat. Where exactly is that line, and why you need to move now: that's what this talk is about.
